1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Verve Automation Singapore Pte. Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"). By authorizing SmileSiri (the "App") to connect to your healthcare organization's electronic health record, or by using the App or our connected devices, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy and Data Use Disclosure. If you do not agree, do not authorize or use the App.
2. What the App does
The App works with healthcare organizations that use Epic and may:
- Identify medical products, supplies and implants by scanning barcodes and RFID tags, and record their use;
- Look up limited patient and appointment information to link scanned products and check-ins to the right patient;
- Support patient check-in through our check-in assistant (a humanoid robot or kiosk) using a QR code or, only with your consent, facial recognition.
Features available to you depend on how your healthcare organization has set up the App.
3. Authorization through Epic
The App connects to Epic using industry-standard authorization (SMART on FHIR / OAuth 2.0). We only receive the data you or your healthcare organization authorize. We never see or store your Epic or patient portal password. You can revoke access at any time as described in our Privacy and Data Use Disclosure.
4. Who may use the App
The App is intended for use by healthcare organizations, their authorized staff, and their patients. Staff users must be authorized by their organization. Patients under 18 may use check-in features only with a parent or legal guardian, as permitted by their healthcare organization.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Access data you are not authorized to see, or use someone else's credentials, QR code or identity;
- Attempt to deceive identity checks, including facial recognition;
- Reverse engineer, disrupt or overload the App, our devices or connected systems;
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in breach of your organization's policies.
6. Not medical advice
The App supports administrative and supply workflows. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and does not replace the professional judgment of clinicians. Staff remain responsible for verifying patient identity and product information according to their organization's procedures. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number.
7. Your data
How we collect, use, share and protect data is described in our Privacy and Data Use Disclosure. When we handle protected health information on behalf of a healthcare organization, we do so under a Business Associate Agreement with that organization and as required by HIPAA. Read the Privacy and Data Use Disclosure.
8. Intellectual property
The App, our devices' software and all related content are owned by Verve Automation Singapore Pte. Ltd. or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App for its intended purpose while these Terms are in effect. Epic and other third-party names are trademarks of their respective owners; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by Epic Systems Corporation.
9. Third-party services
The App relies on systems we do not control, including your healthcare organization's Epic system. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or practices of those systems.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that scans, identity matches or data will always be complete, accurate or uninterrupted.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Verve Automation Singapore Pte. Ltd. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim related to the App will not exceed SGD 100 or the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or if required for security or legal reasons. You may stop using the App and revoke its access at any time. Sections 7 to 11 and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Singapore, unless your healthcare organization's agreement with us says otherwise.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify healthcare organizations in advance. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
